The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is
that little extra.
Hi everyone and welcome to the Room 6 Blogger Page
Room6 is well on their way
with their learning, classroom routines and expectations. The following is a
brief summary of what we have planned for the rest of this term.
What’s happening in Term1
Numeracy
In Room6 we will focus on Place Value, Addition,
Subtraction and basic facts for the first 5 weeks of term 1 before starting
Statistics in the second half of the term.
Literacy
Students will focus on
punctuation and proofreading our work. Some students will work with Mrs Val
Millington and her extension writing programme.
PE
We will be focusing on
swimming and golf for the first few weeks of school and then we will moving on
to small ball skills (throwing, catching and hitting).
Library
Room6 will be using the
Library on Tuesday afternoons. Your child should have a range of reading
materials, e.g. quick reads (magazines), easy reads (comics, joke books etc)
and at least one fiction and one non-fiction chapter book which they need to
read at school and at home.
Inquiry
Students are investigating:
How to keep ourselves safe on the internet by completing Digital Passport Missions.
General
·
Students are required to bring along an old adult size
shirt or T shirt to wear while painting or dying to protect their clothes.
These shirts can remain in class in the arts cupboards for when students need
them.
·
All students will need a book bag to hang at the back
of their seat to keep all their work together as there will be lots of moving
around the class and working at different work stations.
